President of Beni-Suef University Discusses the Development of the Scientific Equipment System with the Director of the National Bank for Scientific Laboratories and Equipment

As part of Beni-Suef University’s commitment to supporting scientific research and developing its research infrastructure, Prof. Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, received Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Habbaq, Director of the National Bank for Scientific Laboratories and Equipment at the Supreme Council of Universities, in an extensive meeting that addressed avenues for joint cooperation to modernize the scientific equipment system and enhance its role in serving researchers and students. The meeting was attended by a number of academic leaders, including Prof. Dr. Yasser Gaber, scientific advisor to the university; Dr. Abeer Moawad, executive director of the Academic Development Center; and Prof. Dr. Essam Abdel Rahman, dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences. The University President explained that the meeting included a detailed review of the current status of scientific equipment at the university, including an assessment of the available capabilities and mechanisms for making optimal use of them in support of research and educational activities. He emphasized that developing this system represents a top priority, given its pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of research and applied projects. He also noted that the university seeks to provide an integrated scientific environment that meets international standards and responds to the needs of researchers across various disciplines. He further stressed the importance of cooperation with the National Bank for Scientific Laboratories and Equipment as a strategic partner in upgrading central laboratories and equipping them with the latest technologies. The meeting also addressed mechanisms for developing joint plans to modernize scientific equipment and carry out regular maintenance, ensuring their sustainability and enhancing their operational efficiency. Both sides agreed to maintain ongoing coordination and hold periodic meetings to follow up on the implementation of the agreed-upon actions. This cooperation is expected to contribute to strengthening the university’s position both nationally and internationally and to reflect its commitment to advancing scientific research and serving the community. For his part, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Habbaq, Director of the National Bank for Scientific Laboratories and Equipment, explained that cooperation with Beni-Suef University comes within the framework of a comprehensive national plan to develop research infrastructure across Egyptian universities. He affirmed the bank's readiness to provide the necessary technical and logistical support to overcome the challenges facing researchers.
