Fayoum University Hosts Director of the National Bank for Scientific Laboratories and Equipment to Discuss the Development of the University’s Laboratory System

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif El-Attar, Acting President of Fayoum University and Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Assem El-Essawy, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of the Postgraduate Studies, Cultural Relations, and Research Sector, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Habbaq, Director of the National Bank for Scientific Laboratories and Equipment at the Supreme Council of Universities, conducted an inspection of the laboratory facilities at the Faculties of Agriculture, Science, Medicine, and Pharmacy. The visit was attended by Prof. Dr. Bothaina Ahmed Fouad, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; Prof. Dr. Naglaa El-Sherbiny, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Dr. Shaaban El-Nasr, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Community Service and Environmental Development, Deputy Director of the University Projects Management Unit, and Visit Coordinator; along with a number of vice deans, heads of academic departments, and faculty members from the respective faculties. The visit took place on Thursday, August 6, 2026. The visit comes within the framework of Fayoum University’s commitment to upgrading its scientific research infrastructure, thereby strengthening the University’s position and demonstrating its dedication to advancing scientific research and serving the community. It also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), attaining the highest standards of quality and excellence, and enhancing the University’s competitiveness at both the local and international levels. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Habbaq explained that the visit reflects the Supreme Council of Universities’ commitment to supporting Egyptian universities technically and strengthening their efforts to develop central laboratories, research units, and scientific equipment available across Fayoum University’s faculties. The visit also aims to identify and promote these resources and provide the necessary technical support to enhance laboratory efficiency, while making them accessible through the National Bank for Scientific Laboratories and Equipment platform to serve researchers. This initiative forms part of a comprehensive national plan to develop and strengthen research infrastructure across Egyptian universities, maximize the utilization of scientific laboratories and equipment, and enhance their contribution to research, innovation, and community service.
