Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy, President of Assiut University, and Prof. Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Moustafa ElHabbaq, Director of the National Bank for Laboratories and Scientific Equipment at the Supreme Council of Universities, conducted an inspection tour covering a number of central laboratories and research units. He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research. The tour included the Main University Hospital, the South Egypt Cancer Institute, and the Faculty of Science. The objective was to review the available research capabilities, the continuous development of devices and equipment they are undergoing, and to support the university's efforts in raising the efficiency of the laboratories, serving students and researchers, and keeping pace with the latest scientific developments. Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Menshawy affirmed that the excellence observed in these laboratories is the fruit of the effort of those in charge and their keenness to follow the latest scientific developments and continuously update devices and equipment. He noted that the university administration is committed to supporting and sponsoring this financially, administratively, and scientifically, out of belief in the vital role of laboratories in enriching the research and scientific environment across various disciplines. Prof. Dr. Gamal Badr explained that the tour comes within the framework of the Supreme Council of Universities' follow-up on the research capabilities of Assiut University, the progress achieved in devices, tools, and equipment, in addition to the specialized human cadres it possesses. This enhances the efficiency of the laboratories and increases their capacity to serve students and researchers and train them to keep up with global scientific advancements. The tour commenced at the Main University Hospital, where Prof. Dr. Gamal Badr and Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Moustafa ElHabbaq inspected the Clinical Pathology Laboratories and the Blood Bank, which includes an elite group of specialized laboratories. They were accompanied during the visit by: Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Basset Khalaf, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr. Heba Ahmed Abdel Hafiz, Head of the Clinical Pathology Department, Prof. Dr. Iman Nasr El-Din, Director of the Main Blood Bank, and Dr. Maged Salah, Professor of Hematology. The tour then continued inside the South Egypt Cancer Institute, where the visit included the Clinical Pathology Laboratory, the Molecular Biology Laboratory, the Tissue Compatibility Laboratory, the Chromosomes Laboratory, and the Flow Cytometry Laboratory. They were accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Abuluyoun, Director of the Hospital, Prof. Dr. Hosny Badran, Vice Dean of the Institute for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Asmaa Zahran, Director of Laboratories. The tour concluded with an inspection of the laboratories at the Faculty of Science, the Analytical Chemistry Unit, and the Research Center of Excellence for Multidisciplinary Sciences, in the presence of Dr. Nagwa Abul Maali, Professor of Analytical Chemistry and Director of the Unit.
