Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla, President of Assiut University, received today, Monday, August 3rd, Dr. Mahmoud El-Habbaq, Director of the National Bank for Laboratories and Scientific Equipment at the Supreme Council of Universities. The meeting took place as part of his visit to the university to follow up on the central and biological laboratory systems, discuss mechanisms for their development, and enhance cooperation in providing the necessary technical support to elevate the efficiency of the laboratories and scientific equipment. The meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Gamal Badr, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Heba Attia, Vice Dean of the Molecular Biology Research and Studies Institute for Community Service and Environmental Development; and the University's Coordinator of Scientific Equipment. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Mawla welcomed Dr. Mahmoud El-Habbaq, emphasizing that the visit reflects the Supreme Council of Universities' commitment to providing technical support to Egyptian universities. He noted that it also highlights efforts to enhance the laboratory system, which contributes to upgrading the scientific research infrastructure and achieving the highest levels of quality and excellence. The President of Assiut University pointed out that the university possesses an advanced system of central and biological laboratories equipped with the latest scientific devices and technologies. This qualifies the university to provide outstanding research services to researchers both inside and outside the institution. He asserted that the rapid development of scientific research tools necessitates expanding applied research and supporting interdisciplinary studies to keep pace with development requirements and the state's vision of building a knowledge-based economy. He further added that the university is implementing a comprehensive plan to develop its laboratories and research centers. This plan includes updating scientific equipment, enhancing infrastructure, and raising the efficiency of technical and research personnel in accordance with the latest international standards, thereby bolstering the university's competitive position and leadership in the field of scientific research. On his part, Dr. Gamal Badr affirmed that Assiut University is keen on periodically updating the data of its scientific laboratory equipment on the electronic platform of the National Bank for Laboratories and Equipment. This is in addition to developing operational and management mechanisms and maximizing equipment utilization. Such efforts ensure optimal benefit from available research capabilities, support researchers, facilitate the execution of scientific research, and improve the quality of the research services provided. Meanwhile, Dr. Mahmoud El-Habbaq praised the tangible progress achieved by Assiut University in developing its scientific equipment management system and updating its data. He noted that the university has made clear strides in performance indicators on the National Bank for Laboratories and Equipment's platform, advancing to seventh place among Egyptian universities compared to last year. This milestone reflects the university's strong commitment to developing its scientific equipment system and maximizing its utilization to serve scientific research and drive innovation.
