Description
A medical device used to record the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time using electrodes placed on the skin. It detects tiny electrical changes on the skin that arise from the heart muscle's electrophysiologic pattern of polarizing and depolarizing during each heartbeat. Modern units range from single-channel to 12-channel simultaneous recording with automated interpretation.
